I HAVE LEARNED THAT MANY PEOPLE WEAR MASK IN ORDER TO APPEAL TO OTHERS. THEY DO AND SAY THINGS THAT THEY THINK GET THEM RESPECT FROM THE PEOPLE THEY ARE WEARING THE MASK FOR. THEY RUN AROUND TRYING TO ESTABLISH AN IMAGE THAT WILL MEET THE APPROVAL OF OTHERS. HOWEVER, THE TRUTH IS THESE PEOPLE ARE JUST NOT INTERESTED IN THE REAL OR THE FAKE YOU. THEY PROMOTE YOU DOING AND SAYING THINGS THAT ARE IGNORANT AND DAMAGING. YOU ARE ACTING OUT THINKING THAT THESE INDIVIDUALS ARE LAUGHING WITH YOU WHEN IN ACTUALITY, THEY ARE LAUGHING AT YOU......... JUST AS YOU ARE WEARING A MASK TO IMPRESS THEM, THEY ARE WEARING A MASK TO DECEIVE YOU.
REAL FRIENDS LOVE YOU IN SPITE OF....... AND NOT BECAUSE OF. THEY HAVE LEARNED TO LOOK PAST THE FACT THAT YOU ARE LAME, UGLY, MOODY, SELFISH AND OR A NUMBER OF OTHER NEGATIVE TRAITS. I HAVE FRIENDS THAT ARE DEPENDABLE AND THOSE WHO ARE NOT BUT I LOVE THEM ALL...IN SPITE OF. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO TRANSFORM FOR THOSE WHO REALLY LOVE YOU. LOVING A PERSON DOESN'T MEAN YOU THINK THAT THEY ARE PERFECT, IT JUST MEANS THAT YOUR CONNECTION IS GREATER IN SPITE OF ALL THE BULLSHIT.
ALWAYS REMEMBER TO BEWARE OF PEOPLE WHO FIND HUMOR IN EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO. THOSE WHO ARE ALWAYS ENCOURAGING YOU TO DO THE THINGS THAT YOU KNOW ARE WRONG. A REAL FRIEND DOESN'T WANT YOU TO EMBARRASS YOURSELF BECAUSE THEY ARE HURT AND AFFECTED BY YOUR ACTIONS DUE TO YOUR CONNECTION. THE NEXT TIME YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING THAT YOU KNOW IS WRONG, TURN AROUND AND LOOK AT THE PEOPLE THAT ARE LAUGHING.............. THEN LOOK AT THE PEOPLE THAT ARE TRYING TO STOP YOU. THE PEOPLE THAT ARE LAUGHING OUT LOUD ARE THE PEOPLE THAT YOU HAVE TO WEAR THE MASK FOR AND THEY ARE NOT YOUR TRUE FRIENDS.

Out of all my transitions in life, and the friends I connected to that were very dear to me, there has only been one left that has weathered the ups and downs, yea some fall off, but what determines a true friend is the ones that get back on the boat and ride again! Thanks for this post Maui!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Kawambee!!! I have experienced something very similar with a lot of so called friends. Friendship is as much about evolution as anything else. Many times we evolve into and our lives change and those friends who we clubbed and got drunk with are no longer interested in us any more. I have a very dear friend who is (what I call)an upright christian. She was raised in the church but during our early college years she partied hard. However, when she went back to church our friendship remained......... She actually ushered into the arms of Christ. Now even though I am not where she is as a Christian we still are the best of friends!!! I tell people all the time, friends don't have to talk everyday, week or month but that love never dies.
ReplyDeleteGurl, you said a mouth full then. There are people always trying to be the person that they think others want them to be, instead of being the person that they really are. The way I see it is that these people still have some growing to do. Once they grow up, they will fially "get it." Like I always say, "You Live and You Learn"
